WELCOME

This blog has been created for educators and scholars taking part in the Abby Kelley Foster Charter Public School Teaching American History grant. Our full title, “Citizenship, Property, Identity & Representation: the Historical Journey of Southern New England’s Native Peoples” is both wordy and descriptive. We are making a common journey through 400 years of American History with a very timely focus.

Since some of our best questions and insights come in the days and weeks after a workshop, institute, or after completing an assigned reading, this site (and our companion website) has been created so that we can all continue in the conversation.

This is the place to share inspirations, observations, new information, and classroom experiences in a way that will encourage us to deepen our knowledge and understanding of an essential area of American History.

So, let the conversation begin!

  1. Welcome to all, and congratulations from Assumption College on beginning this exciting program! I hope everyone enjoyed learning more about archaeology from Assumption Prof. Amy Gazin-Schwartz and the other presenters in the first seminar. From my perspective as head of the Research Office for the College, you are receiving first-rate educational information.

Assumption College is excited to be a participant in the TAH seminars. Best wishes for much success!
